Why JP Cullen?

We specialize in the “Tough Jobs” no one else can do. And we need Tradespeople with the right technical skills, hard work ethic, and can-do attitude, based in the Madison, Milwaukee, and Janesville areas.

Overview

We are seeking high school students going into their senior year that are looking to explore opportunities in the construction industry. Our Youth Apprenticeship program pairs a student with a project team to give them exposure to various trades including the following:

  • Carpenters
  • Laborers

Responsibilities

  • Follow and promote our safety protocols
  • Learn to put quality work in place safely, effectively and efficiently
  • Complete physical labor as directed by supervisor
  • Learn to follow building plans and drawings
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating with your team members
  • Wear appropriate clothing for the construction industry
  • Be on time and ready to work
  • Have the standard hand tools for your work

Qualifications

  • Perform physical labor and comfortable working at heights or tight spaces
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Reliable transportation
  • Entering senior year of high school
  • Minimum of 450 hours of work-based learning
  • Two semesters of related classroom instruction
  • End by August 31st after graduation
